The MegaCentre Family Support Team runs a range of programmes for local children and families.  Lead by professional family support workers, we seek to support families coping with a wide range of different needs

Our family support team provides information, advice and support to parents of children of all ages. Sessions promote wellbeing, child development and effective parenting.

Programmes include:

  • One-to-one support for families
  • Family Fun Sessions for children with additional need and their families
  • Dads and Kids Club
  • Parenting Courses
  • Group work Drop-in Sessions – e.g. Twins & More Group
  • Parents Forum – e.g. ADHD Support, SEN Forum

The Mix

Wednesdays, term time – 16:30 to 18:00

Parent /caregiver responsibility at all times

SEN family fun time for babies, toddlers and children up to school year 6 with any additional needs including emotional or behavioural,

for them, their parents and siblings to have some fun, meet new friends and gain some support and encouragement.

 There are many activities including arts and crafts, Lego, games, sports

and occasional visiting workshops and entertainers.


Dads & Kids

Saturdays - 10am-12 noon Term Time

The club is open to fathers and father-figures along with kids of primary school age!

Sessions are free to engage with and run from 10am-12noon.

Some things that will be included are: - Bacon Rolls on arrival - Pool & Table Tennis - Arts, Craft & Lego - Games and Activities - The odd Fifa challenge! For more info please email

Twins and More

The 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 1pm – 3pm

An opportunity to meet other parents of twins – or more – and talk to someone who really understands the special joys and challenges that come with having babies the same age. A chance for your children to play and make new friends too!

SEN Forum

Set up by parents for parents of children with any additional need

Meets at The MegaCentre Rayleigh on the third Friday of the month (Term time only) 10am – 12pm

Come and meet other parents who have a child/children with additional needs – get some support, information and a chance to relax over a coffee

ADHD Forum

For parents of children who have ADHD or who are in the process of getting a diagnosis

Meetings held at The MegaCentre Rayleigh, on the first Monday of the month(Term time only)10am-12pm Tea & coffee provided

Down Syndrome Group

For parents of babies and toddlers with Down Syndrome

Meets at The MegaCentre Rayleigh on the first Thursday of the month (Term time only) 10am – 11.30am

This group offers the opportunity to meet, get support and friendship and for the babies and children to play and make friends - and get advice from specialist SEND pre school teachers and SENCO’s

Mega Monday

Third Monday of each month, term time – 16:30 to 18:00

SEN soft play session, for children up to and including school year 6 (There is some flexibility around age-please contact)

For families with a child with any additional need, whether diagnosed or not, including emotional and behavioural issues.

For parents and their siblings to come along too, make new friends and have some fun.

Being a parent is a huge challenge and we all need a little help sometimes.  We run Parentalk programmes for parents of Primary and Secondary School age children at different times throughout the year.  Courses are fun, sociable and have lots of opportunity to share experiences with other parents.
