The MegaCentre Family Support Team runs a range of programmes for local children and families.  Lead by professional family support workers, we seek to support families coping with a wide range of different needs

Our family support team provides information, advice and support to parents of children of all ages. Sessions promote wellbeing, child development and effective parenting.

Programmes include:

  • One-to-one support for families
  • Family Fun Sessions for children with additional need and their families
  • Dads and Kids Club
  • Parenting Courses
  • Group work Drop-in Sessions – e.g. Twins & More Group
  • Parents Forum – e.g. ADHD Support, SEN Forum

Family Fun Sessions

Wednesdays – 16:30 to 18:00

Term time only and occasional holiday dates

For babies, toddlers, children and young people with any additional needs, including emotional and behaviour needs. Also for any family just needing some encouragement or support.

Occasional visiting entertainers and workshops.

 Arts and crafts, sports, music, techno weeks, many other activities.

Parent /caregiver responsibility at all times

Twins and More

Alternate Thursdays 1pm – 3pm

An opportunity to meet other parents of twins – or more – and talk to someone who really understands the special joys and challenges that come with having babies the same age. A chance for your children to play and make new friends too!

SEN Forum

Set up by parents for parents of children with any additional need

Meets at The MegaCentre Rayleigh once a month – 10am – 12pm

2017 Dates: September 8th, October 6th, November 10th and December 8th

Come and meet other parents who have a child/children with additional needs – get some support, information and a chance to relax over a coffee


ADHD Forum

For parents of children who have ADHD or who are in the process of getting a diagnosis

Meetings held at The MegaCentre Rayleigh, 10am-12pm
Tea & coffee provided

Megaplay Fun Sessions

Monthly Monday – 16:30 to 18:00

A fun and inclusive soft play sessions for primary school aged children with any additional needs, including emotional and behaviour needs. Sessions include fun on our soft play structure and space for parents to meet and chat in our café.

Parentalk

Being a parent is a huge challenge and we all need a little help sometimes.  We run Parentalk programmes for parents of Primary and Secondary School age children at different times throughout the year.  Courses are fun, sociable and have lots of opportunity to share experiences with other parents.

'The Primary Years' Dates

Tuesdays 12.30pm – 2.30pm September 12th, 19th and 26th  October 3rd, 10th and 17th

'The Teenage Years' Dates

Tuesdays 7pm – 9pm September 12th, 19th & 26th, October 3rd, 10th & 17th

Megaplay Coffee Morning

Tuesdays – 10:00-12:00am

Term time only

A drop in for parents run by the Megacentre Family Support Work team. The group meets in the Megaplay Soft Play each week for time together and time to play.
